Timbaland - Timbaland Marries Again

LATEST: Superproducer TIMBALAND married his publicist partner for a second time on Sunday (22Jun08) in a lavish ceremony in Aruba, according to online reports.

The acclaimed beatmaker is reported to have exchanged vows with girlfriend of two years, Monique Idlett, at the ceremony in the south Caribbean in front of hundreds of guests, including long-time collaborator Missy Elliott.

The couple are said to have married in an intimate ceremony in the music maestro's native Virginia earlier this month (10Jun08), but wanted a second round of nuptials to celebrate their union.

According to People.com, the guests received feather-filled clear invitations to let them in on the secret wedding's exclusive details.

Timbaland and Idlett have a seven month old daughter, Reign, together. They became engaged last October (07).

Actors DANIEL CRAIG, HUGH GRANT and ROBBIE COLTRANE raised $38,000 (GBP19,000) by selling their kisses at auction - to JAMES BOND producer BARBARA BROCCOLI.

The Quantum of Solace producer paid the sum to lock lips with all three men at a fundraiser for The National Film and Television School in London on Tuesday night (17Jun08).

Craig and Grant bid against each other for a collection of Harry Potter memorabilia, which the James Bond star won for $36,000 (GBP18,000), reports MTV News.

Other items at the auction included a dinner jacket worn by Craig in Casino Royale, which sold for $19,000 (GBP9,500) and a signed proof of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone which went for $36,000 (GBP18,000).

British TV presenter and DJ Jonathan Ross hosted the event, which raised $800,000 (GBP400,000) for the school.

Homing in on Hot Trends

After yesterday's wild guesswork on how many searches it takes to get a term on Google's Hot Trends, I got an e-mail this morning from Master Sgt. Kat Bailey of Air Force public affairs:

Regarding your blog on "Hot Trends watch: Air Force portal," there were 62,547 active-duty airmen eligible for promotion to technical or master sergeant during the 2008 promotion cycle. 12,514 were selected for promotion. In addition, you would probably want to factor in the eligible airman's co-workers and supervisor, who are usually searching for promotees� names as well.

This is a good clue to help us with our Hot Trends ballparking. I'm going out on a limb to say 50% of promotion-eligible airmen checked in to see if they were promoted. And if you add a few thousand family members, you're looking at roughly 35,000 searches. Once again, this is just a guess. I've asked Master Sgt. Bailey to send along some numbers for traffic to the Air Force site so we can further investigate how many people we're talking about here.
